Channel9.id – Jakarta. Menteri Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak (PPPA) Bintang Puspayoga menegaskan, Rancangan Undang-undang Penghapusan Kekerasan Seksual (RUU PKS) secepatnya harus disahkan.
Bintang menilai, kondisi saat ini menuntut aturan yang melindungi perempuan dan anak dari kekerasan seksual.
“Melihat dari data yang ada saat ini dapat dikatakan Indonesia tengah berada dalam kondisi darurat kekerasan seksual terhadap perempuan dan anak. Hal ini yang menjadi salah satu urgensi dari disahkannya RUU PKS sudah tidak dapat ditunda lagi,” katanya melalui keterangan tertulis, Kamis (6/8).
Bintang melanjutkan, kondisi saat ini mendukung terciptanya suatu sistem perlindungan yang komprehensif bagi seluruh rakyat Indonesia dari segala bentuk kekerasan seksual.
Karena itu, pemerintah membutuhkan dukungan semua pihak untuk mendorong pengesahan RUU PKS.
“Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut, tentu saja pemerintah tidak bisa bekerja sendirian. Marilah bersama-sama kita menjadikan momentum ini sebagai kesempatan untuk terus mengadvokasi, mengedukasi, serta membangun kepercayaan masyarakat untuk terwujudnya sistem penghapusan kekerasan seksual yang komprehensif dan berperspektif korban,” katanya.
“Terutama kepada seluruh mahasiswa, sebab kalian merupakan penyambung lidah rakyat yang memiliki peran penting merupakan kekuatan yang luar biasa,” pungkasnya.
